At Wilton CE Primary School, lunchtimes are truly something special. This year, we have transformed our outdoor space to create exciting zones for building, imagination, investigation, creation and physical activity, giving every child the opportunity to explore their interests and develop new skills. Our family-style lunchtimes have helped to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can build new friendships, enjoy their meals mindfully and take on responsibilities that encourage independence and confidence. These shared experiences foster a strong sense of belonging and community across our school. We are always striving to create meaningful opportunities and lasting memories for our children, ensuring that every part of the school day supports their growth, wellbeing and happiness. 💚 World Mental Health Day – Saturday 10th October 2026💚 Our challenge to you this weekend is simple, make a little time for yourself and do something that supports your mental wellbeing. It doesn't have to be anything big or complicated. Why not... 🍂 Head out for an autumn walk and enjoy the fresh air. 📚 Curl up with a good book. 🛁 Enjoy a long, relaxing bubble bath. 📱 Phone a friend you haven't spoken to for a while. 🧁 Bake something delicious. 🍫 Treat yourself to a bar of chocolate. Whatever brings you joy, helps you unwind or makes you smile, give yourself permission to make time for it. Life can be busy, and it's easy to put everyone else first, but looking after our own mental health matters too. Sometimes, the smallest things can make the biggest difference. 💚 So, our challenge is to pause, reconnect and do something that makes you happy. During World Space Week, https://www.worldspaceweek.org, we are celebrating one of Salisburys own, Major Tim Peake, who was in Salibury last week to deliver his incredible talk about the journey into space. Who knows, maybe one of our wonderful Wilton pupils may one day be following in his footsteps and taking an incredible journey into the stars. Science and technology are an important component of our curriculum here at Wilton, we encourage our pupils to develop awe and wonder and ask questions about our incredible world.

Did you know.... We work in partnership with The Bridge Project. Our incredible school chaplain, Louise, is a listening ear for parents, pupils and staff. Louise supports us with creating incredible opportunities in school, such as inviting guests from all around the world, creating hands on, practical lessons, sharing worship, providing a safe space, leading creative workshops and supporting the mental health of our wonderful Wilton pupils. In line with Benedict's law, all of our school staff received allergy training prior to term starting in September. We are a nut free school. Please consider this when packing treats and lunches: nuts can be a hidden ingredient. We are committed to ensuring our wonderful Wilton is a safe place to be. If your child has any additional requirements you can register these with our meal providers.

🍂🍁Wilton families we need your help!🍁🍂 Autumn is the perfect time of year to collect lots of wonderful Autumn treasure to restock our two mud kitchens. We have one in the EYFS area for Elmer and Caterpillar class to enjoy and one in our forest school for the whole school to enjoy. Whilst out on your autumn walks, please collect conkers, acorns, sycamore seeds, pine cones, small sticks, interesting stones etc. and ask your child to take them to the mud kitchens to restock ready for imaginative play. 🍁🍂🥮Thankyou🍁🍂🥮

Please be responsible and consider pedestrians, our neighbours and do not block the way for our school bus and taxi service for our pupils. We know that parking near our school is challenging, however, we can work together to keep our community a safe place to be for everyone. Consider stopping on Burcombe lane unless you or your child have mobility issues or additional needs that mean you need to be close to the school. 🍂🍁Enjoy those last few moments together and watch the autumn days glow around you.🍁🍂 Thankyou for helping us to keep your children safe.

At Wilton CE Primary School, democracy is more than a British Value, it is something we live and breathe every day. We are incredibly proud of our School Ambassadors, who are voted into their roles by their peers and play an important part in representing the views of our children. They provide support, share ideas and ensure that pupil voice remains at the heart of our school community. We encourage all children to understand that their opinions matter, and even our youngest pupils are beginning to learn the importance of making fair choices through voting. From electing our School Ambassadors to casting their vote for a well-earned class treat when they have upheld our distinct school values, children are developing an understanding of fairness, responsibility and having a voice. By giving children meaningful opportunities to participate in decisions, we are helping to nurture confident, respectful citizens who know that every vote counts and every voice deserves to be heard.

The first few weeks in Reception have been nothing short of wonderful! We are so proud of how brilliantly the children have settled into school life, arriving each day with smiling faces, growing confidence and a real eagerness to learn. One of the highlights has been watching new friendships blossom. The children have shown such kindness and care towards one another, learning how to share, take turns and work together during their play and learning activities. It has been lovely to see them building relationships and becoming part of our classroom family. The children have also taken on the important responsibility of helping to look after our class animals. They have shown great care and curiosity, learning how to be gentle, respectful and responsible while ensuring our sticky friends are happy and well cared for. Outdoors and in the classroom, we have been busy developing our gross motor skills through climbing, balancing, jumping, dancing and active play. These activities are helping to build the children's core strength, coordination and stability, providing the strong foundations needed for future learning. Alongside this, we have been strengthening our fine motor skills through activities such as threading, cutting, drawing, building and manipulating small objects. These important skills help to develop the hand strength and control needed as we begin our journey towards writing. We are incredibly proud of everything the children have achieved so far. Their enthusiasm, resilience and growing independence have made for a fantastic start to Reception, and we cannot wait to see all the amazing learning and adventures that the year ahead will bring!

Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 Day (or 25th September to us!) was a wonderful celebration of reading, filled with excitement and enthusiasm from the children. Thank you to all of our fantastic families for embracing the occasion and supporting us so enthusiastically. We collected a wonderful selection of books, which will be donated to our local hospital on Friday.

Celebrating Kindness, Love and the Magic of Stories at Wilton! At Wilton CE Primary School, Kindness and Love are at the heart of who we are. As a Christian school, we believe that love is about looking out for one another, valuing our community and thinking about how our actions can make a difference to others. Our love and kindness also extend to a love of learning being curious, discovering new things and getting lost in the wonderful worlds that stories can create. To celebrate this, we are joining in with 9/25 Day on Friday 25th September, inspired by Dolly Parton's incredible Imagination Library and her belief in the power of giving children access to books and stories. 👖 Come to school in relaxed denim or a country-inspired outfit! 🤠 📚 We'll be celebrating our love of reading with lots of wonderful stories, shared together simply for the joy and enjoyment of reading. 💛 And we'd love your help to spread a little kindness beyond our school community. If you have any excellent-quality children's storybooks at home that you no longer need, we would be delighted to receive them. We will collect the books and donate them on behalf of our Wilton community, so that the joy of a good story can reach even more children and families. Because a book can be more than a story it can be a gift, a moment of escape, a spark of imagination and an act of kindness. 🌈📚 Kindness. Love. Community. A love of learning.
